The 30-share BSE Sensex was up 150.48 points at 33,307.70 and the 50-share NSE Nifty rose 55.20 points to 10,378.20.
The BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices gained 1 % each on strong market breadth. About three shares advanced for every share falling on the BSE.
