The Sensex was up 348.32 points or 1.4 percent at 25022.16. The Nifty was up 116.20 points or 1.5 percent at 7671.40.
About 1472 shares have advanced, 1107 shares declined, and 128 shares were unchanged.
Hindalco, Adani Ports, BHEL, Bharti Airtel and Wipro were top gainers while Lupin, Dr Reddy’s Labs, Cipla and M&M were losers in the Sensex.
