The Nifty has ended above 7900, first time after January 1. The 50-share index was up 64.25 points or 0.8 percent at 7914.70 and the Sensex closed up 189.61 points or 0.7 percent at 25816.36.
Infosys, Cipla, Bharti Airtel, HDFC and Lupin were top gainers while GAIL, SBI, Hero, ONGC and ICICI Bank were losers in the Sensex.
