The market ended on a strong with the Nifty above 7700. The 50-share index was up 37.55 points or 0.5 percent at 7708.95. The Sensex was up 123.43 points or 0.5 percent at 25145.59.
About 1509 shares have advanced, 1103 shares declined, and 120 shares are unchanged.
GAIL, Maruti, Tata Motors, Adani Ports and Hero MotoCorp were top gainers while Coal India, Tata Steel, ITC, Hindalco and HDFC Bank were losers in the Sensex.
